1. My father said that he was crazy.
2. She said to me that I walked down the hall.
3. Lionel reported to me that the soldiers was killed by the gun.

reported speech, dalam bahasa Indonesia artinya adalah kalimat tidak langsung. perubahan kalimat dari direct speech menjadi reported speech memiliki beberapa aturan.

ini hanya beberapa contoh
1) imperative speech
My father said, "don't open that window!"
my father said not to open that window.
2) present tense
he said, "he is a student."
he said (that) he was a student.
tetapi karena kalimat ini berbentuk kebenaran umum, lebih pas 
he said (that) he is a student
3) past tense
my mother said, "You sister did her homework last night."
my mother said (that) my sister had done her homework previous night.
